Believers Bill of Rights to contend for the faith!

We are contenders and defenders of the Truth of the gospel. Every believer is called to become a contender and defender of God's words of truth. It is our declarative Bill of Rights. It is absolutely necessary for me to remind you of the responsibility we share as Christians. Indeed, I am compelled to urge all believers around the world to contend for the Faith, which was entrusted into our care by the Holy Spirit. According to St Jude 1:3 "Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people." Let us consciously acknowledge the facts that we're living in perilous times whereby alternative teaching is rapidly enforcing and swaying people's hearts from the faith. False prophets and world leaders alike, are distorting the Bible's Truth and is casting a spell of darkness on the nation. They are enforcing unjust laws and teachings that suit their own purposes. Nevertheless, let us not be weary in well doing, because the duty and responsibility of every believer is to learn to fight for God's truth. In order to become a true contender of the faith one must first know the truth. Knowing the truth comes by way of studying the Bible. Without accurate knowledge you would not know what to defend. This is why it's important for all God's children to understand the principles and doctrines of the faith, so that we are able to recognize false teachings. Our commitment to serve God in spirit and truth must  not be compromised any more for it is our only way to salvation. Here are some biblical principles to meditate on:
  1. God is in control of everything, in all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy path. (Proverbs 3:6)
  2. Start developing an attitude of a contender. (Philippians 3:12-14)
  3. Remember that you have signed an agreement in your heart to serve God in spirit and truth. (John 4:21-24)
  4. Accept the truth that you are the circumcision and worship God in the spirit and have no confidence in the flesh. (Philippians 3:3)
  5. The Lord shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace. (Exodus 14:14)
  6. This spiritual warfare is a daily battle, therefore each day encourage yourself with these words "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7)
